# First steps

> Start with a short chat, no account needed. Then save your setup with your email.

You can start using Qwox without an account. There are no forms to fill in: a short chat is enough.

**1. Start as a guest**

Open Qwox and tap **Start**. Adding your name is optional.

**2. Get to know each other**

Qwox asks a few questions about your work and your day. From your answers it sets up the kinds of records you need,
files your first records and prepares your first morning list. It shows you everything it set up on a card.

If you would rather start writing right away, tap **Skip the intro** before your first
message.

**3. Save your setup**

When your setup is ready, Qwox offers to keep it: **Don't lose this setup**. Tap
**Save with email** to create your account, or **Continue for now**
to keep going as a guest for a little while. A guest has a small number of messages; after that, an account is needed.

**4. Choose your morning time**

Once you have an account, Qwox asks when your morning list should arrive. It starts at 08:00 and you can move it in
30-minute steps between 05:00 and 22:00. On a phone, Qwox then asks for permission to send notifications.

## Signing in

Qwox has no passwords. You sign in with a code sent to your email:

1. Enter your email and tap **Send code**.
2. Type the **6-digit code** from the email. The code is valid for 5 minutes.
3. Didn't get it? Tap **Send the code again**.

On the web and on Android you can also use **Continue with Google**.

Already have an account on another device? Tap **I have an account** on the welcome screen.

> [!NOTE]
>
> You stay signed in for 30 days, and the period is extended every time you use Qwox.

> [!TIP]
>
> Your account comes with a 7-day free trial, no card needed. See [Plans and trial](https://docs.qwox.ai/plans.md).
