# Privacy and security

> Which AI Qwox uses, what it sees, and how your data is protected.

## The AI behind Qwox

Qwox uses Claude, made by Anthropic, and only Claude. Your device never calls the AI directly: the Qwox server sends
Claude your message, the parts of your records needed to answer, the name you go by, your local time and your language.
Your email and account ID are not sent. Anthropic processes this data for Qwox and doesn't use it to train its models.

## Photos

Photos are made smaller on your device and their location and camera details are removed before they are sent. Qwox reads
them and files the information; the photos themselves are not stored.

## Notifications

* **Morning list:** only numbers, never the titles of your records.
* **Reminders:** the record's title and the step, so they can appear on your lock screen.

You get notifications only if you allow them on your device.

## Your profile

Qwox never writes sensitive details into your profile notes, even if asked: health, religion, politics, sexual orientation,
ethnicity, financial situation, or passwords, card and ID numbers. See [Records](https://docs.qwox.ai/records.md#about-you).

## Security

* Your data is encrypted in transit.
* Sign-in codes are stored only as a hash.
* The AI key and other secrets stay on the server.
* Every request is limited to the account that is signed in.
